We
are a loose group of individuals who love to play instruments,
sing and dance as we march up and down the Venice Beach Boardwalk
in Los Angeles. We leave the Rose Avenue parking lot every Saturday
at around noon and we march down to Windward Avenue and back.
At this point we are playing and singing the infectious, danceable
street music of New Orleans as a tribute to that wonderful unique
city which has given so much to America and The World over the
years.
The Venice Beach Marching Society is not a political organization
though we believe that every human being has the right to food,
clean water, health care and education. We also believe that
we should preserve and nurture our wonderful planet and protect
the creatures that we share it with. We do not support cruelty
or violence and we believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness. |
